Cleaning the Bed Cover
Our dog bed covers are machine washable. Unzip the zipper linings to remove the memory foam base from the outer cover.
For the PupLounge, make sure to remove the bolster cushion from the cover, as well, as the bolster is not machine washable.
Wash the cover in cold water on the gentle cycle and hang to dry. A damp cloth can also be used to remove stains from the cover.
Cleaning the Memory Foam
The memory foam is not machine washable, but there are several ways to clean it. To freshen it up, lightly sprinkle baking powder on the foam. This will give the foam a fresh smell. Let it sit for 30 minutes.
Then vacuum the baking powder with a vacuum cleaner, which can also remove pet hair from the memory foam.
To remove a stain, use a damp cloth with warm water and a small amount of dishwashing soap to rub the stain in a light circular motion. Let it sit for 10 minutes and press out as much moisture as you can without "wringing out" the foam, because wet foam can tear more easily.
To dry the memory foam, leave it to air dry.
Cleaning the Memory Foam Base Liners
To clean the liners, use a damp cloth with warm water to remove stains.
"What size bed should I get?
The size of the bed you need will depend on the length of your dog. The best way to determine the right size is to measure your dog from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail; this is the minimum length the bed needs for your dog to stretch out.
Our beds also have a size guide on their product pages that can give additional information on bed sizing."
"What are the benefits of a memory foam dog bed?
An orthopedic memory foam bed offers a number of benefits to senior dogs or dogs with arthritis or hip dysplasia. These include additional support for the dog’s joints and muscles, along with improved weight distribution when your dog is resting. It’s also great for puppies, providing support from the start to help prevent future ailments from developing."
"Is an orthopedic bed only good for senior dogs?
An orthopedic memory foam bed is great for dogs of all ages! For big dogs and breeds prone to hip dysplasia or joint problems later in life, it’s recommended to provide them with full support from a young age to prolong joint health."
"Are your beds orthopedic or memory foam?
Both! Orthopedic means that the bed or mattress is designed to support the bones and joints, and to alleviate pain. Our memory foam pet beds are considered orthopedic as the pressure-relieving memory foam base will help support a dog's bones and joints.
"How thick is the memory foam in the PupRug™ Collection?
Our PupRug™ Beds, including the PupRug™ Faux Fur Orthopedic Beds, PupRug™ Runners, and PupRug™ Faux Animal Print Beds have a memory foam base that measures approximately 2 inches thick."
"Do you use real fur in any of your products?
No. The fur you see on many of our items is a synthetic, ultra-soft faux fur fabric.
"Do the faux fur rugs and blankets shed?
Shedding may occur and is normal with faux fur products, especially in the beginning, but after a few days, the shedding should stop as the loose fibers have been discarded. Washing the faux fur covers of the bed and the faux fur blankets on cold wash delicate cycle should help the faux fur to stop shedding."
